Holtz Leaves CBS To Coach Again

NEW YORK (AQB)--It's official - Lou Holtz is returning to the sidelines.

This time, the 61-year-old former Notre Dame coach will lead the South Carolina Gamecocks, who just completed their worst seaon (1-10) in 106 years of football. The move was confirmed by the school's sports information director shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.

However, completing the deal was not as easy as possibly perceived. According to CBS SportsLine, telephone negotiations with Holtz continued until 3:30 a.m. Friday and then resumed at 7:30 a.m.
