ESPN Radio To Broadcast
Fiesta, Rose, Orange Bowls

By Randy Williams

ESPN Radio will broadcast three Bowl Series Championship games, including the Jan. 4 Fiesta Bowl pitting Florida State against Tennessee for the national title.

Other broadcasts include the Jan. 1 Rose Bowl between UCLA and Wisconsin and the Jan. 2 Orange Bowl between Florida and Syracuse. The coverage is a venture between ESPN Inc. and ABC Radio Networks, which is responsible for sales, affiliation, marketing and promotion.

The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, scheduled for 7:45 p.m. ET Monday Jan. 4, will be broadcast by the team of Ron Franklin, Mike Gottfried and Adrian Karsten. The trio covers Saturday evening college telecasts on ESPN. (For a review of this team's Nov. 21 coverage of Auburn-Alabama, click here.)

The Rose Bowl Presented by AT&T, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET Friday Jan. 1, will be broadcast by Charley Steiner, Todd Christensen and sideline reporter Holly Rowe. Steiner and Christensen broadcast the 1998 Rose Bowl for ESPN Radio and cover college games together for ESPN2. (For a review of this team's Nov. 7 coverage of Kentucky-Mississippi State, click here.)

Coverage of the Fed Ex Orange Bowl, which begins at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday Jan. 2, will be done by the team of Dave Barnett, Bill Curry and sideline reporter Dave Ryan. The trio covered Big Ten games for ESPN this year. (For a review of this team's Nov. 14 coverage of Michigan-Wisconsin, click here.)

Tony Bruno and Mike Golic, co-hosts of the ESPN Morning Show on ESPN Radio, will host the Fiesta Bowl from ESPN's studios. Dan Davis will provide reports surrounding the Rose Bowl.
