Michael has left the building.
Michael
Jeffrey Jordan made
his retirement official today, ending a 13-year career that included
10 scoring titles, five MVP awards and, of yeah, six championships.
And
this time, it's definite ... most likely. The
NBA's greatest player said he was "99.9 percent" sure he would never
return.
"You
can read that for what it's worth," Jordan said. "I'm
very secure in my decision."
When
pressed why he would not say he was 100 percent certain, Jordan
said, "Because it's my one percent and not yours."
This
is Jordan's second retirement this decade. He left the game in October
1993, shortly after the murder of his father, James, but returned
in March 1995 with the simple phrase "I'm back."
The
ex-Bull said Wednesday that he considered being that brief again
this time.
"I
thought about saying just two words, 'I'm gone,' but I thought I
owed my fans a lot more than that," Jordan said, with his wife,
Juanita, at his side.
