Networks Release NBA Schedules

NEW
YORK (AQB)--NBC will televise 33 National Basketball Association
games nationally for the 1999-2000 regular season, including 11
doubleheaders and two tripleheaders.
In all, NBC will show 57 games, including 24 regional contests.
Also included are the title game of the 1999 McDonald's Championship
live from Milan on Saturday, Oct. 16 at noon ET and the NBA All-Star
Game from The Arena in Oakland on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
NBC begins its NBA schedule with a primetime Christmas Day doubleheader
with the Pacers hosting the Knicks in Conseco Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
and the Spurs at the Lakers' new Staples Center at 9:30. Also, NBC
will televise both meetings of NBA finalists San Antonio and New
York this season, on Jan. 22 and March 12.
The Spurs will open the regular season at home against the Philadelphia
76ers on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on TNT. San Antonio will be
televised 22 times and the Sixers are scheduled to appear 19 times.
The Lakers and Knicks are set to appear a league-high 26 times
with the Jazz being televised in 21 games.
Eight teams - Denver, Golden State, the Los Angeles Clippers,
Vancouver, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Washington and Dallas - will
not appear on television this season and one 1990s mainstay - Seattle
- makes just four appearances and none on NBC.
TNT (53) and sister network TBS (27) will televise 80 games during
the regular season. TNT will also televise the McDonald's Championship
Semifinals on Friday Oct. 15 in a doubleheader starting at 8 p.m.
ET, an All-Star Friday Night special at 10 p.m. Feb 11 and the All-Star
Saturday events on Feb. 12.
