NEW
YORK (AQB)--Hope you like the Lakers because you're going to see
a lot of them over the next few months as NBC,
TBS and TNT plan to show 23 of the team's 50 games.
It's
all the Shaq Daddy that you can handle.
In
comparison, the other Los Angeles team - the Clippers - are not
scheduled to appear on any national television games. Meanwhile,
the Jordan/Pippen/Rodman/Jackson-less Bulls will have just one game
on NBC all season and none on TNT or TBS.
NBC
will carry 28 games on NBC Game of the Week telecasts this season,
including two tripleheaders and eight doubleheaders and regional
telecasts.
TNT
and TBS will combine to broadcast a total of 45 games on Monday
(TBS), Tuesday (TNT) and Friday (TNT) nights during the regular
season, with 22 of the 29 teams appearing on national cable telecasts.
TNT
will broadcast an opening-night doubleheader Feb. 5 of New York
at Orlando and Houston at the Los Angeles Lakers. NBC will begin
its schedule with a doubleheader Feb. 7 with regional telecasts
featuring the Miami Heat at New York and Indiana at the Detroit
Pistons, followed by Utah at the L.A. Lakers.
The
NBA playoffs will begin Saturday, May 8, and the Finals will conclude
no later than Tuesday, June 29.
